A walkabout……

Yesterday I went out for a walk around my neighborhood with my camera.  I’d noticed on previous early morning walks how beautiful these Chollas look with rising sun backlighting them.  Chollas are also known as “Teddy Bear” or “Jumping” cactus.  But the more amusing name hikers use is the “wait a minute” bush.  Because if you make the mistake of walking too close to one, a piece will literally JUMP on to you and you will say to your fellow hikers….  “whoa guys, wait a minute”.  This is a nasty little cactus, so admire from a distance…  **wink**
