Pregnancy is a whirlwind of emotion, anticipation, and transformation. It’s a time when life is literally taking shape, and documenting it through photography is more than a trend—it’s a beautiful way to honor a woman’s strength, femininity, and the bond already forming with her baby.
Here is why I think documenting this time in your life is important
Pregnancy can feel long and fleeting all at once. While nine months seem like ages, its like I tell my wedding clients, it will be all over before you know it. A maternity photo session will preserves those tender moments—that lovely belly, the beautiful glow, the quiet intimacy between the parents, and the dreams being dreamt for the tiny little one who you can’t wait to meet.
These images become heirlooms. They’re a gift for you to look back on, for your children to one day see the love that existed before they came into the picture. It’s not just about the “bump”—it’s about celebrating life, transition, and love.
When to Schedule Your Session
The best time for maternity photos is typically between 28 and 34 weeks. By then, the belly is beautifully round, but mama is (hopefully) still feeling comfortable enough to move around with ease. That window captures the fullness of pregnancy without the final-days fatigue.

We can schedule your session for indoors or out, or a combination of both.

What to Wear: Outfit Ideas for Your Maternity Photos
I always tell my clients to wear what they feel comfortable in, that being said I’ve outlined a few ideas for you below… whether you’re going for ethereal, bold, classic, or cozy, here are some outfit ideas that photograph beautifully:
1. Flowy Maxi Dresses
A go-to for a reason! Long, flowing dresses add movement and a dreamy aesthetic. Earth tones, pastels, and soft neutrals work beautifully in our lovely outdoor desert settings.
2. Form-Fitting Gowns
Want to highlight your bump? A sleek, body-hugging dress in a solid color is timeless. These silhouettes emphasize your curves while keeping the look elegant and refined.
3. Sheer Fabrics or Robes
Lace, tulle, or chiffon robes over a fitted bodysuit or bralette set create an ethereal, almost angelic look. Perfect for indoor or studio sessions with a soft, intimate vibe.
4. Cozy and Casual
Think oversized sweaters, open cardigans over leggings or boyshorts, or a simple button-down shirt. This style feels especially intimate and relaxed—like a quiet morning at home.
5. Include Your Partner or Kids
Coordinate but don’t match—keep everyone in similar tones for a cohesive look. Soft textures, linen shirts, jeans, or barefoot portraits create a natural, connected feeling.
