You guys… full disclosure—this wedding happened six years ago. SIX. How is that even possible? It was one of those wonderfully tiny, very 2020-style weddings born out of COVID mandates, and it’s still one of my absolute favorites to this day.
These two fabulous gentlemen had originally planned a much larger, more elaborate celebration with all the bells and whistles. But, as we all know, the pandemic had other plans. Rather than putting their lives on hold or getting caught up in disappointment, they pivoted. They scaled things back, kept their guest list incredibly small, and moved forward with a celebration that felt true to them. And honestly? They handled it with so much grace.
There was zero sulking and absolutely no “poor us” energy. Instead, they fully embraced the moment for what it was and made the absolute most of it. They were upbeat, hilarious, stylish, and completely present with each other all day long. From personalized wedding masks to quiet getting-ready moments and dramatic desert portraits, their day was filled with so much personality and joy.
And I have to be honest… I wasn’t exactly mad about the smaller guest list either. Don’t get me wrong—I love a big wedding party and a packed dance floor as much as anyone. But my heart will always have a soft spot for intimate weddings like this. There’s often less pressure, fewer distractions, and more space to actually soak in what the day is really about: connection, emotion, and celebrating your relationship in a way that feels meaningful.
Small weddings have a way of stripping things back to what matters most. The quiet laughs while getting ready. The spontaneous moments with your dog. The deep breaths before the ceremony. The epic portraits under a dramatic Palm Springs sky. These are the moments that tend to stick with you.
This tiny wedding at the Avalon Hotel in Palm Springs was proof that a wedding doesn’t need a massive guest list to feel incredibly special. It just needs two people who are wildly excited to marry each other—and these two absolutely were.
Here are just a few favorites from their unforgettable day.
