Isn’t that the saying? I don’t actually know what the saying means, but I’m using it for this blog post because it fits. LOL!
I actually really love photographing the details at weddings. Brides shoes, cute napkins, flowers, you name it, I always photograph it because it really helps to support the story of the couples day. They went to a lot of trouble to pick out those details, the colors, the overall feel of their wedding depends on those details, so I think its an important… wait for it…. detail to capture. **groan**.
This little collection of images are from various different weddings, just to show you how varied the “details” can be from one celebration to another.
The brides shoes, super cute sparkly numbers set inside a breeze block. I thought the delicate pretty shoes made a nice contrast against the rough solid blocks. Photographed at The Westin Resort in Rancho Mirage.

The couple wanted to include their dogs in their wedding, so they got to wear these sweet pink satin collars with a single magenta rose attached.
Since magenta was a thread throughout the wedding details, these simple arrangement of Gerbera daisies sitting in simple glass vases really pop!
Sometimes the details that help to tell the story were not added or chosen by the couple. These to images are an example of that. The couple loved the mid-century modern style and held their wedding at a rental that fit the theme. These two circular wire chairs were part of the outdoor furniture at the rental, as were these sweet stars.
Not all decorative floral arrangement have to be “floral”. Check out this cool arrangement using lemons and oranges still attached to their branches. The deep cobalt vase really sets of the yellow and orange.
